Expedition Africa - Rafting Zambezi - Walking Safari - Victoria Falls

Victoria Waterfall: You'll have the opportunity to admire one of the Seven Wonders of the World in a special way: we'll swim, explore and dine just below the 110m high Victoria Falls, a treat reserved only for those who choose to explore the Zambezi on multiday tours!

  WHAT ARE YOU COMING FOR?   SAFARI, altcumva 2 National Parks in Zambia:

•  We invite you to a half-day but intense walking safari: yes, we walk to see a family of white rhinos :) We'll get up close to prehistoric behemoths up to 20 meters, "if today they are in good mood"! Without cars and the feeling of safety they give, wild Africa is suddenly much more intense...
  • We then explore Kafue The second largest park in Africa according to Wikipedia; it is magnificently wild, sprawling and populated with most of the savannah's creatures. The Big Five are here too (leopard, lion, buffalo, hippo, rhino) and last time we even had a visit from a family of elephants in the camping area...
• We spend four days crossing Kafue Park, enough time to taste, smell, smell and start to love Africa.
• We go autonomously, with safari cars driven by us and NOT as in a Tanzanian safari with dozens of cars around the animals. We will be alone in the vastness of the savannah
• Self drive safari means adventure from one end to the other
• We cross 350 km of savannah through Kafue Park, choosing our own route, far from civilisation. In the evenings we camp in organised sites with access to hot showers and campfires, and even a restaurant if we feel the need. We'll rarely meet self-sufficient explorers like ourselves on the way; if we want we'll have someone to socialise with in the evenings in the campsites.
• But we are permanently a stone's throw from Africa, with no electric fences, guards or tourist services.

      VICTORIA WATERFALL (VICTORIA FALLS): ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD!

• The largest waterfall in the world. The water falls from 108 m high into a narrow basalt canyon WHERE THE WATER FALLS (that's "Mosi O Tunya", the local name for Victoria Falls)!
• Because we're rafters, we'll give you a special treat: we'll also admire the waterfall from below, i.e. you'll explore the impressive canyon below the waterfall on foot. We'll swim in the pools at the base of Victoria Falls!

RAFTING PE ZAMBEZI "the best single day rafting trip in the world"

• It's beyond anything you can imagine!!!
• Mountains of water! Waterfalls and rapids reaching the maximum intensity allowed for commercial rafting. That's hard work for the guides, for you it's just... the most intense adrenaline rush you've ever had.
• If you don't already know us, you should know that we, the Outdoor-Events.ro guides are the ones who drive the boats on the rivers. Sometimes together with local guides, friends of ours and local professionals, sometimes alone. Zambezi, although it's the Everest of the world's rivers, is no exception!
• Our guides spent 12 days on the Zambezi in 2016 guiding lap after lap on all 25 of The Big One's rapids, achieving the mandatory IRF Raft Guide Class IV qualification on rivers of the Zambezi's difficulty. You're in good hands!
• Even though it looks intimidating, the Zambezi is host to more than 10,000 rafting tourists every year, most of them for the first time in their lives.
• We'll have kayakers on the water filming every splash. In the evening you'll find it incredible that you were there :)

 

BUT WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT A SIMPLE RAFTING TRIP HERE.  MULTI DAY RAFTING EXPEDITION ON THE BEST RIVER IN THE WORLD!   59 km of rafting in two days:

• camping by the water on sandy beaches with dinner cooked over an open fire
• accommodation under the stars (don't forget, it's 30-38 degrees during the day, coolness at night is welcome!)
• the pace is relaxed, we have time to explore every bend of the river, to walk along the most spectacular lines, to film and photograph but also to enjoy the Batoka canyon in all its splendour without any time pressure

SUNSET CRUISE   - One afternoon we embark on "the Booze Cruise" or officially, the Sunset Cruise: a two-hour sail down the Zambezi towards the setting sun, over Victoria Falls where the river is gentle, barbecue and drinks included. We sail on a boat with all the facilities, in a cheerful group, with music and fun to go, stopping near herds of elephants or hippos bathing in turn. Return at nightfall.

HUNTING   The night of the MULTIDAY RAFTING TRIP will be spent in sleeping bags on the sandy beach. Temperatures are very friendly, no matter how cold or chilly you are! Evenings outside the MULTIDAY rafting expedition we spend on the terrace of the resort The Waterfront, on the banks of the Zambezi, watching elephants and hippos or stalking a crocodile that sometimes makes its rounds... right through the safari village.

Three or four nights will be spent in 3 x 3 m fixed tents in a safari village on the banks of the Zambezi (beds with mattresses, electricity, fan, access to swimming pool, terrace, restaurant). We are 10 minutes from Livingstone town and 10 minutes from Victoria Falls (driving distance). From the terrace the sunset is magnificent and the river is dotted with elephants, hippos and crocodiles. The accommodation is THE WATERFRONT ADVENTURE VILLAGE. Upgrade options are also available.

On safari we will use 3×3m demountable tents with mattresses and sleeping bags or roof tents (tents on the roof of the off-road vehicles in which we explore the savannah).

MONTH On safari and MULTIDAY we will cook for ourselves over an open fire (cars/boats will be stocked with everything we need). Days in Livingstone have restaurant meals, breakfast included.

CARS We travel in off-road vehicles specially prepared and equipped for safaris - in addition to specific camping equipment, the vehicles are specially equipped for driving over rough terrain. The cars each seat 4 people with driver and are Toyota (Landcruiser, Hilux Surf, etc) or Isuzu Double Cab. Each car has an electric fridge, cooking stove, camping equipment for four people and a whole arsenal of cooking utensils.

RAFTING If you know us at all, you already know that we don't compromise your safety on the water.

We operate the MULTIDAY expedition together with the strongest possible local partner in Africa - Safpar.

The equipment is of good quality, the guides are internationally licensed and we know them personally. We will be guiding together on the Zambezi, Romanian and local rafting guides alike.

LOGISTICS

We start with a minimum of six entries. For 1-5 participants, the expedition will run without a guide from Romania. The programme may be subject to adjustments of the departure date depending on the most advantageous flights. The ground programme may also be adjusted in favour of the participants if certain activities need to be modified due to insurmountable circumstances.
