Save the period because... you'll love it!
You should know that the photo above was taken at the island's longest natural slide, which is... 17 m!
And it's probably where we'll spend the night, under thousands of stars!
The first day is dedicated to the journey and, depending on the ferry schedule, we either end it in Alexandroupouli, on the mainland, or we cross and camp directly on the island.
The journey from Bucharest takes about 9 hours by car and leaves us at the Aegean shore, waiting for the ferry that takes us to the island in about two hours.
The rest of the days have a schedule dictated by the vibe and energy of the group and possibly the weather.
Why Samothraki, Greece?
Because the vibe is very different from the ultra-touristy Greek islands!
It's quiet in Samo, few people at the beginning of the season, no cars, no hustle and bustle, no all inclusive tourists.
The island has a special charm at the beginning of summer, the sea water is magnificent and practically nothing will be missing from the usual holiday services - the best tavernas are open, the small cafes are open, the accommodation is also civilised.
Canyoning? What exactly do we do there?
Samothraki is great for your first canyoning experience as the water is warm and the weather friendly. We'll make sure to choose the canyons that suit you so that the experience will be hard to forget.
We propose 3 canyons, without making it a must do of the tour: Fonias, Karagiannaki / Vathras and the icing on the cake, Gria Vathra.
The last one is a behemoth!
Either we run it in a 12-14 hour marathon or we tackle it enjoying every waterfall to abseil, every jumping pool and every slide.
In the second option we sleep in an enormous natural amphitheatre, in sleeping bags and with hot tea in our palms under thousands of stars!
What else do we do besides canyoning?
Besides canyoning the island will be a good host for snorkeling, swimming and stand up paddling.
We also spend time exploring the glorious past on a crazy road trip on scooters :) visiting the winding streets (and tavernas) of Chora next to the Temple of the Great Gods.
Can I go?
The tours are aimed at adventure and comfort enthusiasts who do not necessarily have canyoning experience.
This can be initiated in the country or even directly on the tour, for those who are not afraid of heights.
You have to be good friends with the water instead!
Minors are welcome from 14 years old and above subject to prior discussion.
What equipment should I take with me?
You will receive a list of clothing suggestions after booking; the technical equipment comes entirely from us!
Transport, accommodation, organisation:
There are 6 seats available in our minibus at an additional cost of 60 euros per person.
You can also come by your own car to Alexandroupouli, the ferry port that takes us to the island.
We do not recommend transferring your car to the island as it is an unjustified extra cost; local transfers are done by our car!
