Victoria Falls: You will have the opportunity to admire one of the seven wonders of the world in a very special way — we will swim, explore and dine right beneath the 110 m height of Victoria Falls, a privilege reserved only for those who explore the Zambezi by raft!

WHY SHOULD YOU COME?

 

SAFARI, not the usual way. 2 National Parks in Zambia:

We invite you to a half-day but intense walking safari: yes, we are walking to see a family of white rhinos :)   We will get up to 20 meters close to the prehistoric battleships, "if today they are in a good mood"!   Without cars and the feeling of safety they give, wild Africa is suddenly much more intense...

We then explore Kafue The second largest park in Africa according to Wikipedia; it is magnificently wild, sprawling and populated with most of the savannah's creatures. The Big Five are here too (leopard, lion, buffalo, hippo, rhino) and last time we even had a visit from a family of elephants in the camping area...

• We dedicate five days to crossing Kafue Park — enough time to taste, smell, endure and begin to love Africa
• We travel independently, with safari vehicles driven by ourselves — NOT like a Tanzanian safari with dozens of vehicles surrounding the animals. We will be alone in the boundless savanna
• Self-drive safari means adventure from start to finish
• We cross 350 km of savanna through Kafue Park, choosing our own route, far from civilisation. In the evenings we camp at organised locations with hot showers and a campfire, even a restaurant if we feel the need. We'll rarely encounter other independent explorers on the way; if we wish, we'll have company in the evenings at the campsites.
• We sleep in tents mounted on top of the safari vehicles
• But we are permanently just a finger's length from Africa, without electric fences, guards or tourist services.

VICTORIA WATERFALL (VICTORIA FALLS): ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD!

• The largest waterfall in the world. The water falls from 108 m high into a narrow basalt canyon WHERE THE WATER FALLS (that's "Mosi O Tunya", the local name for Victoria Falls)!
• Because we're rafters, we'll give you a special treat: we'll also admire the waterfall from below, i.e. you'll explore the impressive canyon below the waterfall on foot. We'll swim in the pools at the base of Victoria Falls!

RAFTING PE ZAMBEZI "the best single day rafting trip in the world"

• It is beyond anything you can imagine!!!
• Mountains of water! Waterfalls and rapids reaching the maximum intensity allowed for commercial rafting. That's hard work for the guides, for you it's just... the most intense adrenaline rush you've ever had.
• If you don't know us yet: we, the Outdoor-Events.ro guides, are the ones who drive the boats on the rivers. Sometimes alongside local guides — friends of ours and professionals of the area — sometimes alone. The Zambezi, though it is the Everest of the world's rivers, is no exception!
• Our guides spent 12 days on the Zambezi in 2016, guiding tour after tour through all 25 rapids of The Big One, obtaining the IRF Raft Guide Class IV qualification required on rivers of the Zambezi's difficulty. You are in good hands!
• Even though it looks intimidating, the Zambezi is host to more than 10,000 rafting tourists every year, most of them for the first time in their lives.
• We'll have kayakers on the water filming every splash. In the evening you'll find it incredible that you were there :)

 

BUT WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT A SIMPLE RAFTING TRIP HERE. 

MULTI DAY RAFTING EXPEDITION ON THE BEST RIVER IN THE WORLD!

  59 km of rafting, over two days:

• camping on the riverbank, on sandy beaches, with dinner cooked over an open fire
• sleeping under the stars (remember, it's 30–38 degrees during the day — the cool of the night is very welcome!)
• the pace is relaxed — we have time to explore every rapid, run them on the most spectacular lines, film and photograph, and savour the Batoka Canyon in all its splendour, with no time pressure whatsoever
• our local logistics partners set up the camp, cook and open the bar with ice-cold drinks, so the evening is one you won't easily forget

SUNSET CRUISE

  One afternoon we board what locals affectionately call "the Booze Cruise" — or officially, the Sunset Cruise: two hours sailing on the Zambezi towards the setting sun, above Victoria Falls where the river is calm. Barbecue and drinks included. We sail on a fully equipped vessel, in a lively group with music and entertainment, stopping near herds of bathing elephants and hippos. Return at nightfall.

HUNTING

We will spend the night of the MULTIDAY RAFTING TRIP in sleeping bags, on the sand of the beach. The temperatures are very friendly, no matter how cold or hot you are!   The evenings outside the MULTIDAY rafting expedition we spend on the terrace of the complex The Waterfront, on the banks of the Zambezi, watching elephants and hippos or watching for a crocodile that sometimes makes its rounds… right through the safari village.   We will spend three nights in fixed tents 3 x 3 m, located in a safari village on the banks of the Zambezi (beds with mattresses, electricity, fan, access to the pool, terrace, restaurant). We are 10 minutes away from the town of Livingstone and 10 minutes from Victoria Falls (drive distances). The sunset from the terrace is magnificent, and the river is dotted with elephants, hippos and crocodiles. The accommodation location is THE WATERFRONT ADVENTURE VILLAGE. Upgrade options are also available.

On safari, we use tents mounted on the roofs of off-road vehicles to explore the savannah. They are spacious, comfortable, easy to pitch and off the ground.

MEALS

În safari ne vom găti singuri, la foc deschis (mașinile vor fi utilate cu tot ce avem nevoie).   În rafting trip mesele le pregătesc, proaspăt, camarazii noștri locali de echipă.   Zilele petrecute în Livingstone au mese în regim de restaurant, cu mic dejun inclus.

VEHICLES

We travel in off-road vehicles specially prepared and equipped for safaris - in addition to specific camping gear, the vehicles have special equipment for driving over rough terrain. The cars each seat 4 people with driver and are Toyota (Landcruiser, Hilux Surf, etc) or Isuzu Double Cab. Each car has an electric fridge, cooking stove, camping equipment for four people and a whole arsenal of cooking utensils.

RAFTING

  If you know us at all, you already know that we never compromise on your safety on the water.

We operate the MULTIDAY expedition together with the strongest possible local partner in Africa - Safpar.

The equipment is of good quality, the guides are internationally licensed, and we have paddled, carried gear and laughed heartily side by side with them for days. We will guide together on the Zambezi — Romanian and local rafting guides alike.

LOGISTICS

We start with a minimum of six. The program may be subject to departure date adjustments depending on the most convenient flights. The program on the ground may also be subject to adjustments in favour of the participants if certain activities have to be modified for insurmountable reasons.
