Lucrăm la orice nivel, de la prima alunecare pe zăpadă la viraje paralele, freeride, carving ori snowboarding.

You are welcome to:

• Initiation - first steps on skis or snowboard, plow turns, getting used to the ski lift. In snowboarding most of the initiation is done hand in hand with the instructor.

• Refresher - classic turns, carving turns, freeriding through descent techniques with anticipation, absorption, acceleration techniques, centre of gravity games at slope changes, turns with variable radius and tempo, jumps and landings

• Advice in buying and adjusting personal equipment to personal skiing/snowboarding style and anatomical conformation

Ski or snowboard sessions usually last two hours, enough time to make noticeable technical progress without having to physically exhausting.

Refresher sessions are also aimed at children.

Children are required to wear ski or snowboard helmets and adults are also advised to wear them for their own safety on the slopes.

WHO ARE WE?

I started teaching in 1997 as a snowboard instructor, in a select company of only four instructors teaching other than skiing but as part of the great family of alpine, cross-country and snowboard instructors in Poiana Brasov.

We were employees of Poiana S.A. and we started our day with a short attendance, briefing and group allocation meeting in the welcoming lobby of the Bradu Hotel. A tribute to Vicky, the barista who was the "mother" of our mornings and who made one of the best cappuccinos I know :)

In the meantime we have technically evolved to the level of ISIA Category I Instructor and we brought along a nice team of ski and snowboard instructors that today is called Mares Ski Snowboard School and is waiting for you every day at the Rental Centre on the Bradul slope, Poiana Brasov!

We are happy to take children from 3 years and up for snowpark initiation, away from the crowds and speedy skiers; with the more advanced in technique and age we do  children's camps up at the Postăvaru hut to be first on the slopes in the morning!

With those who come to us for training we work either up in Postăvaru on the red or black slopes or on the wooded slopes and valleys drowned in fresh powder, when winter is in full blast!

The Mares Ski Snowboard School has 9-12 instructors, boys and girls, with a minimum of two seasons experience as instructors.

WHERE DO WE SKI, BOARD OR TELEMARK?

We happily enjoy daily skiing on the slopes and unimproved slopes of the Postăvaru mountain overlooking Poiana Brasov.

Every winter month we head out of the country for 5-10 days to destinations that offer as much for snow lovers as they are full of beauty, history and high quality gastronomy: ski touring in Bulgaria, Heliski in Georgia, Skiing and ballooning in Turkey, Skiing and desert dunes in Iran, Ski touring in Iceland.

We also accompany you on ski holidays in the Alps on request.

WHY POIANA BRAȘOV?

Because it is by far the most professionally managed ski area in the country.

Calitatea pârtiilor, numărul de tunuri de zăpadă, frecvența amenajării zăpezii (zilnică!), echipa tehnică și infrastructura hotelieră depășesc orice altă stațiune de schi din România.

Poiana Brașov e în clipa de față singura stațiune de iarnă din țară ce găzduiește competiții de schi din calendarul Federației Internaționale de Schi și se pregătește să găzbuiască festivalul olimpic FOTE 2027!
